started as a consultancy service to facilitate the formation of VSLAs especially for women groups in the Northern Region of Ghana. Over the years VLD succeeded in creating and managing women groups (VSLAs) not only in the Northern Region but also in the North East Region and the Upper East region of Ghana. In working with the women groups, we realized that VSLA was not enough tool to help develop the livelihood of women, hence a very robust supportive program was needed not only to support livelihood development but also to promote women health and well-being since it is a very key variable for women livelihood development. As a result, Village Livelihood Development - Support Program (VLD-SP) was designed or created to serve as a vehicle from which Village livelihood Development (VLD) will use to canvas support for its women groups, communities and individuals. In recent times, VLD has worked with partners and donors like, Ghana Health Service, Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Ghana Enterprises Agency, Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit of the District Assemblies, Food and Drugs Board, KGL Foundation, Mother Food International and Abt. Global Inc. Feed the Future Resilience in Northern Ghana Systems Strengthening Activity to support the livelihood, development and improvement of the health and well-being of over 1,500 women in the northern Ghana.
